Traditional social media usually offers two choices: keep publicly displaying an old version of yourself, or delete it forever.
HOURGL is being built to add a third option.

Something can stop being public without disappearing from your life.
Old relationships, embarrassing photos, outdated aesthetics, failed ideas, awkward phases, old opinions, and previous versions of yourself can move inward instead of being destroyed.
You shouldn't have to keep performing your past to keep it.
On deletion: real deletion controls stay. Moving something inward is meant to be an alternative to deleting things you did not actually want to lose, never a replacement for the ability to delete. If you want something gone, it goes.
Future HOURGL vision
Curiosity is not identity.
Modern recommendation systems often treat everything you explore as evidence of who you are. Watch something unfamiliar and the algorithm begins rebuilding your feed around it.
HOURGL should eventually separate I wanted to explore this from I want this to become part of my world.

HOURGL should not infer permanent identity when a person can express intent directly.

HOURGL is not meant to have a bottomless feed. The symbol this brand was built on is an hourglass with no bottom, because time is the thing you cannot get back. A product carrying that mark should not be built to take more of it than you offered.
The intent is that you decide how much time to give a discovery session, turn the Hourgl, explore, and reach an end.

Origin
Why an Hourgl?
Before HOURGL was a product, the Hourgl was a symbol. It still is. Everything below came first, and the product came out of it.
The Hourgl began as a reminder that time is disappearing.
HOURGL became the idea of preserving what happens while it does.
Definition
What is the Bottomless Hourglass?
Hourgl is the Bottomless Hourglass, an hourglass with no bottom. Its sand keeps falling. It cannot be caught, restored, or reset.
A normal hourglass holds time in a sealed chamber. Flip it, and the sand comes back. Flip it again, and you get another turn. The Bottomless Hourglass removes that promise entirely. There is no chamber waiting at the bottom to catch what falls. Once the sand passes through the center, it is gone, and there is no second hourglass behind it.
That is the entire point. The symbol represents urgency, growth, and the plain reality that time is running out, for everyone, all the time, whether you are watching it or not.
Meaning
What does an hourglass with no bottom mean?
An open-bottom hourglass is not a symbol of endless time. It is closer to the opposite. It means:

Time is finite. Nothing about this symbol suggests you get more of it.

Lost time cannot be recovered. The sand that already fell is not coming back, no matter how the hourglass is turned.

Delay has a cost. Every day spent waiting is sand that already passed through.

Growth must happen while time remains. There is no later version of today.

It is a warning, not a comfort. The symbol does not promise unlimited chances. It is a reminder that your chances are limited.

Gratitude must happen now. Even imperfect moments are temporary. Appreciate what is still here before it becomes something you wish you had valued sooner.

The Hourgl is not only a warning that time is running out. It is a reminder to value the time that remains.
Life will still hurt. Things will go wrong. Anger, grief, fear, disappointment, and frustration are real. The symbol does not ask anyone to pretend otherwise.
It asks something harder: do not give those emotions more of your remaining time than they deserve.
Every ordinary conversation, every difficult lesson, every person still beside you, and every chance to grow exists for a limited time. Gratitude is not reserved for perfect moments. It is the decision to recognize the value of a moment before it is gone.

The Name
Why is it called Hourgl?
Say "hourglass" out loud, then remove the bottom of the word the same way the symbol removes the bottom of the shape.
HOURGLASS
The word loses its bottom, just like the symbol.
What is left splits in two: HOUR, the unit of the thing running out, and GL, read as good luck. Time and luck in the same six letters.
Construction
The symbol
The Hourgl mark is built from a 7 and its horizontal mirror, meeting at the center point.

One 7 forms the first side of the mark: a top bar and a diagonal stroke.

A second 7 mirrors the first, creating the opposite diagonal.

Together, the two mirrored 7s create the complete Hourgl symbol.

The combined shape also forms an A, the first letter of Alexandrino.

The horizontal line represents God and my belief that He is the reason I made it here.

Seven has long been associated with luck. The mark carries that meaning through two mirrored 7s.

The open bottom represents time escaping—the sand that can never be caught again.

The Hourgl is the symbol of SEBIV.

SEBIV is built on the idea that tomorrow has to be built today, because today is already running out. Hourgl is where that urgency comes from. The sand falling through the symbol is the same sand SEBIV is racing against. One is the name. One is the belief underneath it.
